WORSHIP AT FIRST CHURCH

Worship isn’t the “music part” before the message—it’s our shared response to who God is and what He has done. As we sing biblical truth together, God recalibrates our hearts, unites us as one body, and prepares us to hear and obey His Word. In moments of praise, prayer, and reflection, the Spirit forms us into a people who live out the gospel every day—joining the mission of Restoring God’s Ideal in our homes, neighborhoods, and city.

Serving on a Worship Team is a practical way to offer your gifts to God while growing as a disciple. You’ll be part of a healthy, encouraging community that values excellence with humility, provides coaching and feedback, and helps you develop both spiritually and musically. Whether you serve in the band or on production (audio or lyrics/media) team, you’ll see God use your service to help others meet with Jesus right where they are. Scheduling is flexible, the on-ramps are clear, and there’s a place for you at First Church.

Celebrate Recovery Worship Team

The Celebrate Recovery Worship Team leads Christ-centered, hope-filled worship every Thursday evening for our recovery community and guests. Our sets are simple, singable, and sensitive to the room—supporting a safe, welcoming space for anyone healing from hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

Thursday nights at Celebrate Recovery begin with worship that is honest, steady, and singable—designed to help our recovery community breathe, focus, and meet with Jesus.

We’re looking for steady, humble servants who can carry a melody, play with restraint, and support the room behind the scenes so the message of hope stays front and center. If you’re dependable, compassionate, and ready to serve weekly or on a rotation, we’d love to talk. Click the button below to contact Pastor Rachel.

WORSHIP TECH SERVE OPPORTUNITIES

First Church is blessed to have many tech volunteers who work behind the scenes each Sunday! These workers show the slides, balance the sound, and make the live stream possible. We are in need of additional volunteers. Here are jobs available:

Camera Operator

Camera Operators volunteer about one Sunday each month at the St. Joe campus. Most camera volunteers serve for both the 9:30 and 11:30 services and report to the 9:00 am tech meeting. They use cameras to create the visual impact of the online services by following prompts from the “switcher.” Camera Operators need to be attentive throughout the services. Training and support are available!

Computer Tech

Computer Techs are used at all four campuses to project the slides used throughout the service. Most computer volunteers serve for one service, 1-2 times per month. Their report time varies by campus. Computer Techs need to pull in various parts of the service into one program and stay attentive while advancing the slides. Training and support are available!

Audio Tech

Audio Techs are used at all four campuses. The audio engineers use their “good ears” for music and their technical ability to balance the voices and instruments on the stage. They run a digital soundboard and have the ability to troubleshoot and adjust quickly. Most audio volunteers serve at one service, 1-2 times per month. Their report time varies based on which service they are providing support. Training and support are available!

Camera Switcher

Camera Switchers are used at the St. Joe campus for the online services. Switchers work alongside the Online Streaming Engineer during both services to make the streaming informative and interesting. Most switchers volunteer one Sunday per month and work during both services. This role requires knowledge of the camera operator roles, attentiveness, creativity, and the ability to quickly communicate. Report time is 7:40 am. Training and support are available!

Facebook Moderator

Facebook Moderators are used at the St. Joe campus during the 9:30 am service. Moderators interact with anyone who chooses to comment during the service. Computer skills, and a heart for outreach are needed for this role. Training and support are available!
